The Fantastic Four Visit Madres Espresso

OLYMPIA, WA — Things got extra shot-worthy at Madres Espresso this morning when a shiny silver hovercraft idled into the drive-through lane, humming with cosmic energy and a suspicious smell of rocket fuel and cinnamon.

Out popped none other than the Fantastic Four—though technically, they stayed in the craft. “This universe-saving business is exhausting,” said Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, while peering at the hand-lettered specials board. “I need an oat milk vanilla latte or I’m phasing out of this dimension.”

Barista Carly, unfazed, greeted them through the service window with a cheerful, “Welcome to Madres! What can I get started for you?” She barely blinked at the stretchy arm of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) slinking out from the passenger seat, holding exact change.

Johnny Storm (Human Torch) asked if he could roast his own beans mid-flight. “No open flames in the drive-through, please,” Carly replied sweetly, handing him a steaming mocha with double whip. “And no torching the whipped cream. Again.”

Ben Grimm (The Thing) ordered a black coffee—no sugar, just bold enough to punch asteroids. “And a cherry Danish the size of a hubcap, if ya got one,” he added.

With minimal cosmic interference (and only one accidental hover above the espresso machine), the team got their drinks and zipped off to battle galactic injustice.

“They were polite,” Carly said, wiping a small scorch mark off the window ledge. “And Reed left a schematic for a cold brew propulsion system. So… a solid morning.”

Witnesses say the drive-through smelled faintly of ozone and biscotti long after the hovercraft vanished into the clouds.

Just another magical morning at Madres Espresso—where even superheroes know the best brew in Olympia comes with a smile and a cup to-go.
